Sandals Resorts Closes the Sandals Inn

In an official letter from Sr. Vice President of Sales for Unique Vacations, the worldwide representatives of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Gary Sadler announced today the closure of the Sandals Carlyle Inn, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Through the years, Sandals Resorts has prided itself on bringing you and your clients bar-raising innovations and comprehensive new developments at every turn. Our goal is simple, to provide customers with the absolute best vacation experience that not only meets but exceeds your every expectation.
With this in mind, and as we look ahead, we have made the difficult decision to remove Sandals Inn from our portfolio of resorts. Many have come to love the relaxed and quaint charm of this boutique resort and we ant to take this opportunity to thank our thousands of valued guests that have chosen to spend their precious vacation time there with us. “

The original name of the Sandals Inn was the Sandals Carlyle as one of the company’s first acquisitions in 1981, and was changed to simply the Sandals Inn. This resort is for those who love the authentic Jamaican boutique hotel, or a lovely B&B experience, with lots of pampering. It’s also perfect for those who feel at home in Jamaica and enjoy walking to the nearby Hip Strip.

The beach is across the street from the resort hotel, and like many beaches in the Caribbean it’s a public beach. However, the bonus to staying at the Sandals Inn was the stay at one – play at three option. Which meant that guests from the Sandals Inn were able to enjoy the other two Sandals Resorts in the area – Sandals Montego Bay or Sandals Royal Caribbean, only a 5 minute ride away via the complimentary van transfer provided by Sandals Resorts .

This 52 room boutique resort is located near the Hip Strip in Montego Bay and has a loyal following of guests who like the intimacy of the staff knowing everyone’s name, the access to the resort management team, and the feeling of coming home. This is evident of their “family board” of repeat guests displayed on the wall of the atrium. (purposely blurred for privacy of guests). This was also the most affordable option to experiencing Butler services which is a draw for young honeymoon couples on a smaller budget.

The closure will be effective July 21, 2019 and the official statement assures guests that they will be accommodated at one of the other Sandals luxury resorts in Jamaica at no additional cost in an equivalent room category. Travel advisors are instructed to contact any guests booked at this location to make arrangements for their clients. Guests not booked with a travel planner are instructed to contact Sandals directly at 1-800-SANDALS.

Until next time…
